Couple Therapy

Building Emotionally intelligent relationship and Marriage

Difficulties in marriage and romantic relationships can be confusing, painful, and at times overwhelming - not just for the couple, but also for those around them, such as children. Happy couples aren’t necessarily more intelligent, wealthy, or emotionally skilled than others. What sets them apart is their willingness to show up fully - not just 50/50, but 100/100 - with each person taking full responsibility for the relationship rather than waiting for the other to meet them halfway. They find ways to keep negative thoughts and feelings from overpowering the positive ones, staying open to each other’s needs and embracing their differences with curiosity and care.

I believe most of us have the capacity to build emotionally intelligent relationships when we’re committed to growing together. I offer a safe, supportive space for couples to explore and work through challenges - whether that’s changing unhelpful patterns, improving communication and intimacy, resolving conflict, or navigating the decision to part ways with respect. Even if the relationship doesn’t last, the effort you put in reflects your love and integrity - and that kind of work is never wasted. It’s part of living in alignment with your true self.

Cross-cultural relationships

I also specialise in supporting couples in cross-cultural relationships, particularly those from very different cultural, racial, or religious backgrounds. These couples often face unique challenges - such as differences in communication styles, gender role expectations, family dynamics, customs, parenting approaches, and value systems. Being in a cross-cultural relationship myself, I’ve learned first-hand how important it is to work hard at the relationship and stay open-minded in order to build mutual understanding, empathy, and respect. I offer a safe and therapeutic space for couples to explore these complexities and grow together.

How I work with Couples

I offer both short-term and long-terms therapy for couples. My approach is rooted in holistic Gestalt framework, see My Approach for more details. This means I help couples to develop greater awareness and gain new perspectives, and learn practical skills and strategies.

Session may involve experimenting with new ways of relating, both within and outside the therapy space. Most importantly, I provide a safe, confidential and supportive environment where couples can feel heard and understood as they navigate their journey together.
